In Memoriam: Michael Smith, Chair of ECCH

Fágann an bás briseadh croí nach féidir le duine ar bith a leigheas; Fágann an grá cuimhne nach féidir le duine ar bith a ghoid.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”

It is with deep sadness that we share the news that ECCH’s Chair, Michael Smith, passed away on 13 April 2026. We have lost a dear friend, a devoted colleague, and our inspirator.

Michael dedicated so much of himself to ECCH to give homeopathy the place it deserves in healthcare.

His wish would be to collaborate closely, support one another and carry ECCH and homeopathy forward with the same conviction and care he brought every single day.

In the period ahead, the Council and our Policy Officer will work closely together to ensure continuity and to fill the space that Michael has left. At the upcoming General Assembly, the chair and vice-chair will be elected, ensuring ECCH moves forward.
