Throughout Europe most education and training in homeopathy is offered by private schools and courses offering diplomas and licentiates. There is no single diploma or qualification which has Europe-wide recognition.
ECCH, which represents the majority of professional and heilpraktiker homeopaths in Europe and the International Council of Homeopaths have published the ‘International Guidelines for Homeopathy Education’ in 2011. This document has been influential in establishing common standards of education and training across Europe and has become recognised as the established requirements within the profession worldwide.
Accreditation
Independent Accreditation of courses marks an important step in the establishment of any profession. Accreditation of courses requires that course providers undertake a comprehensive review of their course delivery processes and infrastructure. The review is carried out against a set of criteria jointly established by the professional body and the education providers it works with. This process aims to produce practitioners who are competent to practise and ready for registration with a national register. ECCH has agreed Accreditation Guidelines, and encourages associations to work with schools to establish accreditation of homeopathy courses.
